Our take on SUN, SKIN and HEALTH
While sunscreen is helpful in protecting the skin from burning sun exposure, it is more important to be aware of the risks of inadequate sun exposure as well the harmful ingredients in most personal care products, including sunscreen as these have an even greater risk than cancers related to sunburn.
The harmful effects of seed oils, which contain linoleic acid in our diets and personal care products have a shocking correlation with the increase in melanoma cancers. Humans have evolved under the power of the sun. Countless bodily functions are directly affected and controlled by the solar spectrum and our body knows how to take advantage of this if we let it. So, not going into the sun is absolutely a serious form of malnutrition, depriving ourselves of a critical nutrient.
We seek to inform consumers to rid themselves of the ‘fear of UV’ which has been deeply entrenched in the aesthetic industry. Instead of the educational message being, ‘avoid the sun’ we propose ‘seek non-burning sun exposure daily’.
